This puppy dish is know as the 'flying saucer' because of the raised post in the middle. Puppies can gather around the dish - it helps deter the pups from getting into the dish. 
The dish is stainless steel and is dishwasher safe. (Please note: dishwasher detergent with lemon may cause a dulling of the stainless steel.)
